This course has been developed to provide training for emergency situations, Which may occur while working, travelling or participating in outdoor activities.

Such as outdoor workers, hikers, school group leaders.  

The Wilderness first aid course is taught over one day at our base camp style training facility in the East Sussex country side. It is a practical based course with as little theory as possible, we find that students take in far more from hands on learning.

This course covers all the requirements of the

HSE Emergency First Aid certificate.

The course includes instruction in :

HSE approved first aid training
Bushcraft & Survival
Wilderness Emergencies

Improvised Rescue techniques
This course has no entry requirements

Information
All our courses are run at our base camp style training facility in the East Sussex countryside, or at a venue of your choice for groups.

Lunch & refreshments are supplied throughout the day. (special dietary requirements,you are required to bring with you)

Instead of spending a boring day in a classroom  why not spend it in the great outdoors being taught by some of the best and most experienced instructors in the field.

Not only will gain an HSE first aid qualification, you will have a great day out in the county side of East Sussex learning a lot more than basic first aid, all this for the same as you would pay to sit in a classroom .

 

 

 

 

First Aid content:
         Basic life support

 Vital signs – conscious level, breathing, pulse, temperature,colour

 Emergency action – a methodical system to manage emergencies

 Airway problems – recognising & managing airway problems

 Breathing problems – coping with choking

 Circulation problems – shock,chest pain,collapsing,heart stoppage

 Unconsciousness – collapsing, what can it be? what do you do?

 Bleeding – treating bleeding from open wounds

 Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) - UK Resuscitation Guidelines

 Fractures – splinting & dressing

 Head & spinal injuries – Cervical collars & dressing

 Environmental illnesses – Hypothermia & Hyperthermia

Transportation of casualties - rescue techniques & improvisation.

 

 

Details:
Clothing & Equipment list will be forwarded with booking conformation. (Required equipment available to hire)

Arrival time 0900 (9am) on the first day of the course.
Departure approx 1700 (5pm) on the last day.
Free transportation is available from Polegate railway station.
